Kurti Neckline Design --2 The Magic

Now for the magic of Embroidery to tranform a simple neckline to a beautiful one.

First draw a square.

Take two needles with two different colour threads.I have used Off white and Blue.

I have started with Off White.Make two diagonal stitches.

We have to consider this as two halves of the diagonal from now. We will be working each thread along the diagonal we chose inter changing the half.

So I have brought the Off White thread along one diagonal of shorter length than the first stitch.
I bring out the needle  out on the other half of the diagonal on the same side.

Now we start with the blue thread on the othe digonal.First make a stitch shorter than the first one and bring out the needle of the same length on the other half.

I continue this step till the two colors meet each other.I am putting pictures for your clarity.

LO BEHOLD THE MAGIC!!!!!

I have made 12 such motifs to get the neckline. I may something more.Let us wait and watch....
I have formed a pattern using Fern stitch and Stem stitch to join all the 12 motifs.

Kurti Neckline Deign --2 The Procedure

Hi friends ,I would like to share the steps of how I stitched this neckline.

  1.First I cut the neckline on the cloth.Neck Width -5 1/2 "  Neck Depth-6".Cut in the centre -9"

2.Then I cut another piece of the same dimension with width of around 3" on three side.

3.Then keeping right side of small cloth on right side of main cloth I stitched along the edge.

4.Then I nipped along the corner at each turning making sure that the cut does not go beyond the            stitchline.

5.This is to get the sharp edges.

6.Then I flipped the small cloth to the wrong side of the main cloth and stitched along the edge to            get the neckline.

7.Now make a piping of required width and stitch along the neckline. You can hand stitch it if you             are trying it the first time.

8.To seal the opening take a cloth of 3" width and 8" length and place on the wrong side of the cloth         in between the slits and stitch along the neckline to fix the cloth.

So the neck is ready for embroidery.

Kurti Neckline Design ---2 The Idea

Hi Friends,I was browsing through face book and came across a post in Needle art shared by Raza ma'am  .It was called border design based on Norwich  stitch  posted by Learn Embroidery BD.

It looked very simple and unique . It  is basically a stitch which is based on length of the stitches and is usually done on Matti cloth used for doing Cross Stitch. It is a network of stitches intermingling with each other.

The post in faceboook had brought out how the same stitch can be done on plain cloth based on our judgement of length of stitches. As usual I was intrigued by this innovation .They had tried it with one colour thread .My mind went wondering as to how it would look with two threads.

The original version of this stitch is the one with only the purple colour. The other three are my variations which I tried.

So I liked the one the upper right corner to use for my next Kurti Neckline.Hope you all like it.

Here is a closeup of the design.

Kutchwork Jacket

hi friends ,ever since I learnt how to do Kutchwork I havebeen wanting to stitch a Jacket using kutchwork.

So i got a black colour cotton cloth and started searching for designs. Ther are plenty of designs available with so many experts in our group in Facebook. So I started with the front base.
This was looking good and so I completed it.But it looked incomplete. So I added asequin in between with chain stitch around it.It still felt a little empty so filled all the spaces in between with a simple motif.

The base was done .I took a break from kutchwork and gave borderline with Chain stitch and Herrinbone.
Then came row of blue Kuchwork again .I planned to give a small space for some flowers with Herringbone stitch ,chain stitch and stem stitch in between the two border lines of blue Kutchwork.
The basic idea being to break the monoty of the same type of work as Variety always adds more Flavour.

This is acloseup of the flower. For the top I have used Kutchwork, Chain stitch and Sequins alternavely.

I have completed the jacket.

This is the back with a heart motif in the centre.

Kurti neckline design - - 1

Hi friends I have been stitching my kurtis for a while now and I have decided to gather some of the designs in my blog.

It is indeed a magical experience to see how a piece of cloth can be transformed into a beautiful dress.Just as the saying goes that "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder"  When i buy a cloth I start pondering on how i can make a beautiful dress with it.Some have necks ready to stitch. But the magic starts when you can design the neck yourself.

So when I got this set the combination of light green with blue was very attractive.I had planned to only give a piping to the neck with the pant cloth.

I have stitched a green colour kurti with lining. It has a U neck with a button Patti.I have used the blue colour pant cloth as piping along the neck.It is very simple to do this. You can checkout the Button Patti post in my other blog Sew your dream.   If you still have any queries you can ask questions on the comments section.I wil  be happy to help.

So let us get back to the story ,When I saw the blue on the green I decided to create a neck design for this dress with simple stitches. And lo behold I was very happy with the decision. Here is a picture.

Dont you agree with me?It is just a play of green and blue.I thought it added lot of vibrance with the dress.

I have used Herringbone stitch,Bullion knot,French knot,Lazy daisy and Fly stitch  along with Stem stitch .I have put separate posts for Herringbone Lazy daisy or Detatched chain stitch and Stem stitch in my blog Sew your Dream.

Here is a closeup of the stitches for your clarity.
I am open to take orders .You can give me your specifications on the comments section of this post.Thank you.

I have added a piping on the outer side of the dsign too to define it more. What do you think of my idea.

Baby sling bag

Hi friends, I stitched a sling bag yesterday with a baby pink colour cloth. It is a very easy version with only an inside pocket and a zip to close.

Hope you all like it. I have tried to illustrate with pictures but if you have any doubts you can put them in your comments.

I took a 9"by 9" cloth for the front and back. I took one piece of foam which comes with ready-made shirts and a lining cloth of the same dimension.
I have used a 5"by 5"piece of white cloth for the inside pocket.
I have attached foam to the front and not to the back.

You can see that I have kept the cloth foam and lining one below the other and stitched along the edges.

This is how the front looks on the right side.
Now for the back I have followed the same procedure as the front except that I have added a pocket on the inside part.
The back as it looks on the outside.

Now to fix the zip in between, I have followed the same procedure as always.
Please refer to my other blog http://sewyourdream.blogspot.com
I have explained this process in my earlier post named A Small purse.

The other side of the purse.
Now putting one on top of another stitch along the three edges.
Turn the bag inside out and attach the handle. With handles around 40"in length and 4 "wide .
Lo behold a cute little sling purse for your princess.

Cushion cover

Hi friends, I have stitched a cushion cover set . I used a cloth which had designs placed diagonally across each other.
Stitching a kurti with that cloth could not bring the beauty of the designs placed in a diagonal pattern.
So I decided to stitch a cushion cover set using all the designs.
I cut and attached similar patterns and got a good effect. Hope you all like it.

The method was very simple, I took the dimensions of each cushion, added the extra 2" for stitching allowance.

For the bolsters I folded the two ends to get a Patti to insert the string to pull and tie the ends.

For the small and big cushions I added 4" to one side for the overlapping flap to get a neat finish. If you have any queries please leave your questions in the comments box below.

There can be three variations of the designs.

I am glad I could use the cloth effectively.
Hope you all like it.
 Thank you
